As Graphic Designer on the Brand team, I contribute to the development and execution of strategic marketing and communication efforts that align with the School’s mission and vision. Serving as an in-house creative agency, our team supports the three distinct brands under Organization’s umbrella.
My work spans a range of projects, including print and digital design, supporting admissions, philanthropy, consulting, and academic divisions. I also create engaging social media content, execute advertising campaigns, and design dynamic and user-friendly webpages in collaboration with our in-house developer—all while ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels.
Through intentional design, I help tell the Organization’s story and elevate its brand presence.
Brand Elevation
Since Kelsey Mruk (Creative Director) and I joined the team in 2023, we’ve worked intentionally to elevate Mount Vernon’s visual brand. Before then, the design approach was simple and flat, falling short of reflecting a school rooted in iteration, design thinking, and inquiry-based learning.
To better capture the spirit of Mount Vernon, we introduced design elements that embody creativity and innovation. Texture adds depth and shows iteration. Wireframe shapes reference prototyping and the multidimensionality of our students. Sticky notes serve as a nod to collaboration.
Beyond visuals, our team also builds strategy and systems across the three distinct brands under the organization’s umbrella. In just over two years, we’ve transformed a four-page style guide into a robust set of brand standards that ensure consistency, flexibility, and cohesion across all Mount Vernon communications.
